A Walkin Wheels Dog Wheelchair Family

A few months ago, Yvonne B. from Poland shared a very touching story and photos of her dog Lori. Lori is a 15-year old German short-haired pointer who relies on the Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair for her daily walks in the woods. Yvonne expressed such gratitude for the invention of the Walkin' Wheels and its ability to help her beloved Lori continue her routine of walking 2-3 miles each day. Accompanying Lori and Yvonne on these walks is their best friend Ami - a 20-year old dachshund who is both blind and deaf.

A few weeks ago, Yvonne again contacted HandicappedPets.com to inquire about a wheelchair for Ami because he too was beginning to have difficulty walking.

As a temporary solution to assist Ami with remaining mobile in the short term, Yvonne had devised a "walking machine" using a large pot and a post. By attaching a support sling to Ami's rear legs and connecting it to the post, Yvonne was able to provide him with a means of exercising for a short period of time each day. While this solution provided a temporary fix, it soon became apparent that Ami would not regain his mobility and would also need a wheelchair. Yvonne contacted HandicappedPets.com to inquire about a Walkin' Wheels that would fit a dachshund.

Within days of receiving Yvonne's e-mail in early August, HandicappedPets.com was scheduled to release its all new Walkin' Wheels Mini dog wheelchair to accommodate the mobility needs of small dogs weighing less than 20 pounds. Featuring the same no tools required adjustments in length, width and height, the Walkin' Wheels Mini is the ideal dog wheelchair for small dogs who are suffering from partial or complete rear leg paralysis. One of the first Walkin' Wheels Mini dog wheelchairs to be shipped from HandicappedPets.com was sent immediately to our friend Ami in Poland.

Now, both Lori and her companion Ami are rolling along on their daily walks through the forest thanks to their Walkin' Wheels for Handicapped Pets!

"Thank you for what you did for my beloved friends. You gave them a better life. And I am the happiest person in the world because Ami and Lori are happy now. Thank you!", Yvonne wrote about her family's experience with the Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair.

Dear Friends from HandicappedPets.com,
words cannot express my gratitude to you for giving my Ami the Walkin' Wheels Mini. You gave him freedom. He is again very happy. He was a prisoner of his "walking machine" for about 3 months and he was not happy at all. He is 20 years and 7 months old but he still wants to be active, he loves the wood and enjoys walking. He walks very slowly now but he is happy, smiling and walks about 4 hours on a cart every day! He wants to live and doesn't give up.
You did a great work for Ami. THANK YOU <3 <3 <3.
You also send pneumatic wheels for Lori. Every day we walk 10 kilometers through the forest, sand, pines, roots, hills, holes, puddles, muds... And only pneumatic big wheels make Lori's walk comfortable. And Lori enjoys running very quickly! She had small foam wheels and they weren't enough good for our walks.
Dear Friends from HandicappedPets.com, thank you for help!!! We are the happiest trio in the world!

It's lovely to see dogs out and about with their wheels. Tails wagging and eyes bright- just going on a walk can raise their spirits massively!
