A War Dog Gets His Wheels Still Needs Your Votes

MWD Emir H323 today in his Walkin' Wheels
When HandicappedPets.com was contacted on Monday with a request to assist a retired military working dog, we considered it a privilege to be able to provide MWD Emir H323 with a Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair.  We are extremely grateful for the sacrifices that MWD Emir and so many other canine military heroes have made in service to our country.  Providing MWD Emir with a dog wheelchair that would allow him to remain mobile in his retirement was the least we could do to honor him, his former handlers and all those who have served and continue to serve in the armed forces.

MWD Emir served four tours in Iraq
We were also extremely grateful for the opportunity to make this donation because we know that it is only within the last decade that the Department of Defense policies regarding the military working dogs were changed to allow these canine heroes to be adopted instead of being euthanized after retiring from military service.  It is our sincere hope that MWD Emir's Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair will significantly enhance the quality of his retirement and also inspire others to provide support for military working dog adoption programs.

Click here to watch a video of Emir earlier today as he took right off in his Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair!

Vote for MWD Emir in the Hero Dog Awards
Now that MWD Emir is back on his feet, he soon will be returning to the campaign trail seeking support in the 2012 American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards.

Thank you in advance for your support of our canine military heroes.  To learn more about military working dogs and their record of service throughout history, visit MWD Emir's charity partner - the United States War Dog Association, Inc.

Great article about a wonderful dog who will now be able to enjoy his well-deserved retirement, thanks to your generous help! I know how much his owner appreciates it.

You and your company have done a wonderful thing in donating this wheelchair to Emir. Just watching the video makes my heart so warm! If you watch previous videos oh him you can see how badly he was struggling and now he seems to have become young again! Awesome! Thank you VERY much!

I want to thank you all so much, you have no idea what a happy dog I am now. the last month or so we fell behind on our votes for Hero Dog Awards because mom was busy taking care of me instead of campaigning on my behalf. Mom was also helping another contestant, CWD Carlos when he needed a life saving emergency surgery. He fell behind on his votes too!! I got the hang of the chair before mom even put it on me, I knew exactly what it was for. I helped by backing my behind into the straps. Now when i see the wheelchair I get as excited as when I used to see the leash. Today I will get to return to my retirement job as a service dog for mom. I will get to go to school with mom as a service dog. I can only work part-time until i get my upper body more buff, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to return to my active lifestyle. It makes me proud to have served such great people in this wonderful country. Land of the free because of the brave war dogs. we led the way in battle and we lead the way in rehabilitation. ---MWD Emir H323

Thank you for helping Emir. Dogs shouldn't have to suffer for mankind's greed and lust for war.
